PCSX2 Set-Up

This will be a guide to setting up PCSX2

Note: This mod assumes you have a legitimate copy of NCAA Football 06 for PS2, dumped into an ISO format and played with PCSX2 v1.7+ and a legitimate PS2 BIOS dump.

For 64-bit x86 based Intel/AMD Windows, MAC, or Linux PCs

Please obtain at least this version of pcsx2 or higher:

https://pcsx2.net/downloads/#nightly-anchor

Please use any version between v1.7.2389 through v1.7.4029

DO NOT USE A VERSION NEWER THAN FEBRUARY 08, 2023.

We recommend using the AVX2 QT versions for the best performance and newest user interface. AVX2 version is for computers with Intel Core Processors Gen 2 and up (i.e. 2011-ish and newer)

Enabling Texture Mods

In PCSX 1.7 or higher, go to Graphics Settings, and then the Advanced Tab.

Make sure to check LOAD TEXTURES at a minimum to load the texture packs.

Also, in the main Graphics settings tab, disable Mipmapping.

No interlacing/auto widescreen

These patches are included in the CHEATS folder of the Source-Code.zip file you downloaded.

Move this CHEATS folder into your PCSX2 directory.

In the Emulation Setting of PCSX2, check the box for ENABLE CHEATS.

OTHER RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

PCSX2 Settings

Enable Multi-Threading if you have an 4-core or higher CPU (intel i5, i7, i9 or equivalent)

Enable Widescreen and set Deinterlacing to NONE or AUTO

Set Mipmapping to OFF! THIS IS IMPORTANT!! Also set Texture Preloading to Full is recommended to prevent texture popping. Setting Trilinear Filtering to TRILINEAR (FORCED) & Anisotropic Filtering to 16X will improve the visuals of the game, namely the yard lines on the field. If you don't have the option to enable Anisotropic Filtering, you first must disable GPU Palette Conversion. This does increase hardware requirements. So, if you have a lower end PC you'll likely want to disable Anisotropic Filtering & set Trilinear Filtering to AUTOMATIC if you have slow downs.

In Texture Replacements tab, select LOAD TEXTURES. This is the most important step!
